Woo-hoo! It's my birthday! Of course, having a birthday when you're older and a mom doesn't seem to have the same connotation as when you are 5 and blowing out birthday candles with all your friends and family looking on in eager anticipation. What happens to that magic? Is it still there? My husband just passes birthdays off as "another day." I can't agree with that. There IS something special about the day you were born, and it deserves celebration, even if it is with a cake I made for myself. Even my little boy remembered to say, "Happy Birthday, Mom." How could I ask for more than that... I've noticed two beautifully wrapped presents to enjoy later on after dinner with my cake. Now, if the weather could only brighten my day instead of acting dreary... :-)
